Jr. DevOps Engineer

This individual will assist and often lead in the day-to-day maintenance, management and deployment of sites and tools located within our Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. Working with the Digital Health development and data teams, the Junior DevOps Engineer will ensure the functionality of IPRO’s (and IPRO’s customers’) web properties by launching and monitoring the general health of the server instances, operating systems, database systems, installed software, help deploy new instances for internal and external customers, and maintain their integrity and assist end users in their interaction with said services. Duties include but are limited to: 

  • Assist in maintaining AWS hosting environment, monitoring connectivity, suspicious traffic and ensuring consistent reporting of systems.
  • Conduct routine administration of server tasks such as log file purging, backups, etc.
  • Participate in design sessions relating to Web development.
  • Perform Tier-1 customer support as required, both internal and external. 



  • Knowledge of computer technical support and Linux systems administration particularly as it pertains to the AWS environment and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with LAMP infrastructure, especially PHP/MySQL, a plus.
  • Proficiency with scripting (shell scripting, Python).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage Web applications and services using industry-standard tools and practices.
  • Ability to work within W3 standards.



  • High school diploma, required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration or computer technical support, required.
  • Minimal certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, preferred.
  • Experience administering installed software packages such as PHP, MySQL, Apache, Python, Content Management Systems, preferred.
